Production

I am Luke Kulukundis, a music producer, songwriter, recording and mixing engineer and recording artist. I am based in Forest Hill, where I am resident in two studios; Snorkel Studios, a large two room recording studio with a wooden floor live room built for high fidelity drum recording and many vintage preamps, and 1888 Studios, a production suite based around analogue synths, outboard FX and Ableton Live workflow.

12 years of producing with different projects has led me to developing a unique style of production that stands out from the crowd. Over the last few years applying this to the work of other artists has become my more regular work, and has become a passion.

Inspired by trip-hop methods, with plenty of attention to hip-hop, electronica, dub alternative rock and folk styles, I take concepts from these genres and test myself with how they can be combined.

My passions are blending acoustic instruments with synthesis, digital and analogue styles with in the box and outboard fx, incorporating field recordings wherever possible, and pursuing sonic innovation while never forgetting the importance of a great song.

My productions have featured on BBC Radio 1, Radio 6, NTS, Resonance, Represent, Rinse France etc, and have been written of in the Quietus, NME, DAZED, The Face and more.

Mixing, Engineering

I offer mixing and engineering services separate to production; at Snorkel Studios we have a phenomenal live room with a remarkable drum sound, a series of gorgeous pre-amps and top level vintage microphones. In both practises, the philosophy is centred around getting as much of the authentic moment of the recording to shine through as possible; letting sounds exist as if you were in the room when they were recorded; warm clarity and dynamic range.

Mixing selected credits; Nukuluk - Stillword, Mr Beale - Gilded / HarpyIOSOG - Sa Bhaile, Me Charles - Like & Share, Wildwood Daddy - Paypig

Engineering selected credits ; Nukuluk - all records, Legss - Doomswayers + Writhing Comedy, Goat Girl - Radio X Live Show, Levitation Orchestra - Inexpressible Infinity, Hypernova Militia - Animus

Sound Design, Composition, Experimental

Ambient, textural work, whether to serve as accompaniments to film, installation, performance or just to be it's own concept, is a practise I revere and am always keen to do more of. I have produced audio works for artists Cole Denter and Llyr Wallach on multiple occasions, works showing in Brussels, London, Stroud and Paris.

I composed and produced a series of sonic idents that were played around the Outernet Global screens at Tottenham Court Road when they first opened in 2021, and contributed music and composition to a campaign by acclaimed jewellery designer Slim Barrett.

I have created soundtracks and sound design for short films and documentaries, namely Zágon - dir Mateo Villanueva Brandt, All Of A Sudden I Begun To Melt - dir Ruth Waters, DUVET - dir Bel Parker, Submarine Man - dir Jake morris.
